Erdoğan calls Musk to build a Tesla factory in Turkey
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on the company's CEO Elon Musk to set up a Tesla car factory in Turkey. On Monday, citing the government office, the news agency Reuters reported this information.
According to the report, Turkish suppliers have been working with Tesla for a long time. Musk even mentioned Turkey as the most important candidate to build Tesla's next factory.
Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for the comment.
Turkey's state-run Anadolu news agency says Erdoğan and Musk discussed the matter during a meeting at the Turkish House, a multi-story building next to the United Nations in New York. Erdoğan is currently in the United States to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Turkey's Directorate of Communication says that Turkey will cooperate in any matter of artificial intelligence and the establishment of Starlink, Erdoğan said in the meeting.
